Pre 1918 British Half Crowns
I have just been looking into some silver coins and found that pre-1918 British half crowns contain 0.46 ounces of silver and can be picked up for as little as 4 a coin.
Last time I checked silver was 8.51 an ounce so wouldn't that put these coins pretty near spot? what's evryone think, are they better than ounce coins? |
Re: Pre 1918 British Half Crowns
Hi there,
I have been buying pre '47' and pre '20' British coins for a while now. Including crowns, half-crowns, double florins, florins, shillings, sixpence and threepence. Am always able to guy them at less then spot. Not sure if would say better than ounce coins, but get more silver for your money. |

Allways good to have some coin of the realm, in sterling, good deal, since the decimal change over the coin pickings have been slim, I find a lot of Britannia Coinage at estate sales here in the States, stuff brough back from WW2 etc.
